IELTS breaks the 1.5 million tests mark

IELTS has cemented its position as the world’s most popular high stakes English language test with latest figures revealing a record 1.5 million tests were taken around the world in 2010. Representing over 15 consecutive years of global growth, the number of tests taken has increased year-on-year annually since 1995.
North America followed by the Philippines and Hong Kong experienced the largest growth over the year, whilst China, Australia and India continue to retain their positions as the largest markets for IELTS.
Tony Pollock, Chief Executive of IDP: IELTS Australia, speaking on behalf of the three IELTS partners said, “We believe the increase in the number of IELTS tests taken can be attributed to two key factors. Firstly, we have seen greater test accessibility with 800 locations in 130 countries now available.
“There are also over 6,000 institutions globally that rely on the rigour and reliability of the IELTS test to make informed decisions where English language skills are a key requirement, including universities, employers, professional bodies and immigration authorities,” he continued.
IELTS provides a reliable measure of a candidate’s ability across the four skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Candidates cited the number one reason for taking the test in 2010 was in pursuit of entry into an academic institution, followed by migration purposes.
“IELTS continues to help change people’s lives as they look for opportunities around the world – whether that be in education, for migration or employment. That’s why IELTS is a high stakes test and also why it’s so critical that the test continue to be a robust and rigorous measure of English language proficiency. “With 1.5 million tests delivered last year, it is clear that the effectiveness of IELTS in this regard is acknowledged by both candidates and those who use and rely on the test alike,” Mr Pollock concluded.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).

You may print the form and fill it in details, then accompanying your bank receipt and your original Test Result Form (TRF) please head to IAU Examination Center located on the corner of 6th Behestan Alley, Pasdaran Ave., Tehran

Please note:
Pay full attention to the time limit mentioned in the form.
It may take six weeks to get your skills remarked. However, this may extend to eight weeks, depending on demand.
You must deposit 1,450,000 Rials into the bank account with the following information:

Total fee: 1,450,000 Rials
You will receive a full refund if your result is changed to a higher band score, but if there is no improvement to the original score, no new TRF will be issued and there will be no refund.



Test Report Form

In order to check the preview of your IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) please visit http://results.ielts.org and note the preview of your test result is provisional and may not be used as official confirmation of your test result.
This test centre or the IELTS partners will not accept any responsibility in the event that your result fails to display there, whether due to technical fault or administrative procedures.
Your official Test Report Form will be issued 13 days after the test and it would be ready to be collected at the Islamic Azad University Examination Centre (Markaz -e- Azmoon).
You may be asked to show your national ID card or passport (depending on your IELTS Application Form) when receiving the TRF.



Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form

Due to your medical problem, you should provide some medical documents within 5 days after your test date. This documentation must be in English and should be written in the hospital letterhead stating that you were not capable of taking the exam, signed and sealed. please consider that you should fill in the attached form and send it to IAU IELTS Centre via the following email address:

An administration charge of 600,000 Rials is made for this service.

قابل توجه داوطلبین گرامی آزمون آیلتس آکادمیک 25 خرداد 1391– 14 June 2012

بدين وسيله به اطلاع داوطلبان آزمون آيلتس آكادميك 14 ژوئن مي رساند به دليل لغو مكرر آزمون هاي آيلتس ايران و به منظور فراهم آوردن امكان ثبت نام داوطلبان اين مركز در آيلتس دانشگاه آزاد، آزمون آكادميك 14 ژوئن لغو گرديده و در تاريخ 20 خرداد (9 June 2012) در دو ماژول آكادميك و جنرال برگزار خواهد شد. از اين رو:

كليه داوطلبان آزمون 14 ژوئن در صورت تمايل به شركت در آزمون 9 ژوئن لازم است پس از مراجعه به پروفايل خود نسبت به پرداخت آنلاين مابه‌التفاوت وجه آزمون خود به مبلغ 1.950.000 ریال تا پايان وقت اداري (15:00) روز سه شنبه 2 خرداد 1391 اقدام نمايند. لازم به ذكر است در پايان مهلت اعلام شده تاريخ 14 ژوئن به صورت خودكار به 9 ژوئن تغيير خواهد يافت.

آن دسته از داوطلبان آزمون 14 ژوئن که مایل به شرکت در آزمون 9 ژوئن نیستند، می‌توانند با پرکردن فرم Request for Refund or transfer و ارسال آن به ایمیل 14june2012@iauset.com تا ساعت 15:00 روز دو شنبه 1 خرداد 1391 نسبت به انصراف يا انتقال تاريخ آزمون خود اقدام نمایند. بدیهی است پس از طی مراحل اداری و مالی وجه پرداختی داوطلبان به طور کامل مسترد خواهد شد.

چنانچه داوطلبی تا ساعت 15:00روز سه شنبه 2 خرداد 1391 نسبت به تعیین وضعیت خود اقدام نکند، آزمون وی کان لم یکن تلقی خواهد و به عنوان غايب اعلام مي گردند.

 
The World Speaks IELTS
On the basis of IDP-IA certificate and available capacities, Islamic Azad University (IAU) runs the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination in Islamic Republic of Iran.
The first IELTS Academic examination in this centre was successfully run on 18th of December and we are planning to run three exams a month including 1200 seats each

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination can be taken in over 100 different countries in the world. It is primarily designed to assess the readiness of candidates to study or train in further or higher education courses held in English at college or university.

The examination takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete, and consists of four Sub-tests in the skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Test Modules:
There are two IELTS test modules available:
1. The Academic Module
2. General Training Module

The results of the Academic Module may be used to determine a candidate's suitability for studying at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

The General Training Module is suitable for candidates wishing to continue their studies at diploma level only. The General Training Module is also used for immigration purposes to Australia or New Zealand, and for students who wish to complete their secondary education in an English-speaking country.


                             


The General Training Reading and Writing Sub-tests are less demanding than the corresponding Academic Module Sub-tests, but the Listening and Speaking Sub-tests are the same for both modules.

It does not matter what subject you are going to study in the future - or have studied in the past - all students taking the desired module do the same test. You will not be tested on your specific knowledge of a subject; only your English language skills are assessed.

You may write on the question papers, but you may not take the question papers from the examination room. All your answers must be written on the Answer Sheet provided.
